Guadalajara City, with more than 450 years of history, is the place from which tequila originates. It is also the home of the Mexican hat dance and the place where the original mariachis began.  Mariachi musicians once played in groups with five or more instruments. More recently, they have added trumpets and violins to create unique sounds. When you see the mariachis arrive, dressed in their elegant suits and sombreros, you know that the party is about to begin!
