Isla Mujeres weather and tourist Seasons
The tourist season in Isla Mujeres (when hotel rates are higher) is a little different from that in other locations in Mexico.
High season: December through May, a month longer than in Cancún
Low season: from June to mid-November
Note that some hotels increase their rates in August, and some increase their rates starting in mid-November.

Isla Mujeres Currency Exchange
On Isla Mujeres, there are three main ways to exchange currency:
- At the many casas de cambio (money exchanges), which are easily found along the main streets.
- At most of the hotels, although often the exchange rates are less favorable than the commercial businesses.
- At the only bank in Isla, HSBC Bank, located across from the ferry docks.
