Manzanillo diving and snorkeling

- La Roca del Elefante Manzanillo (or Elephant Rock)- A deep area with a rocky floor; contains an underwater canyon
- Los Frailes Manzanillo - Consists of small crags, located south of Elephant Rock, 27 meters deep, has strong currents, for expert divers only, one of Manzanillo’s most fun attractions
Manzanillo fishing
Manzanillo’s waters hide the treasured catches of sailfish and marlin, among fish. This bounty has made Manzanillo the site of the International Dorsey Tournament since 1954.
It has been the Sailfish Capital of the World since 1957, the year that 336 trophy fish were caught. The Dorsey Tournament takes place in November. There is a national sailfish tournament in February.
Manzanillo has an impressive abundance of sailfish. It also has astonishing opportunities for catching them. From other ports, it takes 2 or 3 hours of sailing out to sea to catch a sailfish.
In Manzanillo, it is easy to catch a sailfish in 10 to 15 minutes. Sailfish and dorado can be caught all year round. Marlin and tuna are mainly caught from November to March.
