Guanajuato

The state of Guanajuato, Mexico is to east of the State of Jalisco, to south of the state of Zacatecas and St. Luis Potosí, to west of Queretaro and north of the state of Michoacan and geographically is divided into five regions.

The city of Guanajuato was founded by coal miners that arrived around the century XVI and converted the centuries after into the main mining center of “New Spain”.

Guanajuato is one of a group of old silver mining cities, which includes San Miguel de Allende, Zacatecas, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí and Alamos.
